Knowledge, as they say, is power. We believe that with the right knowledge, we and our members can better fulfil GETA's founding principal - to promote gay tourism throughout Europe. The knowledge we gain from research will help us do this in two fundamental ways:
RAISE AWARENESS: Once the mainstream tourism industry within Europe fully understands the size, value and importance of the gay market, they will strive to better meet the needs of gay tourists. GETA intend to collate and communicate the best quality statistics on gay tourism and gay tourists throughout Europe.
IMPROVE PRODUCT & SERVICE: Understand your customers, and you can better meet their needs. GETA intend to carry out research amongst both travelers and professionals within the European tourism industry.

This study, based upon existing research and extrapolation, provides an estimate, for the first time, of the size and value of gay tourism in Europe - valued at a massive €50b per year. This is particularly important for businesses and investors who seek to include this group of travellers in their marketing mix.
